· In coordination with UNDP Engineers and Engineer Consultants, engage communities to conduct need assessments in target areas to inform selection of schemes based on UNDP’s selection criteria.
· Organize and participate in meetings and coordinate with the district administration.
· Establish networking with the stakeholders in the implementation process of project interventions.
· In coordination with UNDP Livelihoods Coordinator, seek endorsement of the final list of villages for project interventions from the district administration.
· Develop profile of the villages/area, assist local community in addressing development issues.
· Develop comprehensive field strategy and workplan to mobilize the communities and identify community prioritized schemes.
· Identify communities with needs and vulnerabilities where activities should be prioritized in accordance with the overall framework of the programme.

· Prepare the work plan for all community mobilization activities. The content of community mobilization activities will include but are not limited to the following: local problem analysis; assessment of vulnerabilities, capabilities, and available resources; preparation of community profiles.
· Identify contact persons in target villages and carry out community development dialogues.
· Provide technical advice to local communities to assess and prioritize communal schemes that will benefit women, men and marginalized groups.
· Provide support for the strengthening of community-based organizations to undertake their own development initiatives with special emphasis on empowerment of vulnerable men and women (including IDPs, youth at risk, elderly people, people with disabilities and others);
· Identify potential community physical infrastructure schemes through active participation of men and women community organizations.
· Get endorsement of the final CPI schemes from the district administration.
· Facilitate UNDP engineering consultants for conducting the feasibility studies and BOQ development of the final list of CPIs.
· Attend progress review meetings and update the district administration on the activities of the project.
· Share weekly progress with SIDP teams in Peshawar and Islamabad.
· Facilitate SIDP team in development of progress briefs and other required reports.
· Facilitate SIDP team visits to the targeted villages.
· Develop close coordination with other agencies engaged in community development in the district.
Monitor the community engagement activities carried out in the target districts and submit reports to UNDP on regular basis.
